# Token Verification

> Understanding verified and suspicious tokens

## Token Verification System

Nova Wallet automatically scans tokens for security risks using the NovaShield Security API.

## Suspicious Asset Banner

When you encounter a suspicious token, you'll see a warning banner with:

* Security risk level
* Specific threats detected
* Recommendations

## Adding Custom Tokens

When adding a custom token, Nova will:

1. Scan for honeypot detection
2. Check holder concentration
3. Analyze liquidity locks
4. Verify contract authorities

### If Token Passes

Token is added to your wallet

### If Token Fails

**WARNING:** You'll see a warning explaining the risks\
**CAUTION:** You can still add it, but proceed with extreme caution

## Verification Indicators

* **Green checkmark**: Verified safe token
* **Yellow warning**: Proceed with caution
* **Red alert**: High risk - do not trade

Always verify tokens before trading, especially new or unknown tokens.
