Pre-Distribution Review
Before an app is listed, we conduct:- Automated scanning — Detection of known malware, suspicious code patterns, and policy violations
- Manual review — Human review of app functionality, metadata, and content for fraud and policy compliance
- Security checks — Analysis of permissions, network behavior, and code integrity
- Developer verification — Basic verification of developer identity and legitimacy
Ongoing Monitoring
After apps are listed, we continue to:- Scan apps and updates — Re-review when developers submit updates
- Monitor behavior — Track app performance, user reports, and anomalous activity
- Review developer conduct — Identify developers who violate terms or engage in suspicious behavior
- Threat intelligence — Incorporate external signals (e.g., malware databases, security reports)

Enforcement
When we identify fraudulent, malicious, or illegal activity:- App removal — Apps that violate our policies are removed from the marketplace
- Developer suspension — Developers who engage in prohibited conduct may be suspended or permanently removed
- User protection — We take steps to protect users from known harmful apps (e.g., blocking installations, warnings)
- Legal and regulatory cooperation — We cooperate with law enforcement and regulators where required by law
